Hiding you in Plain Sight.
Ok, so boom…Do you remember in the film when Cinderella and the Prince were in the market place together?! Well, if you don’t remember, let me set the scene.
They were both singing and the generals nearly ran over Cinderella and the prince ran to help her and he said, “It’s just like those generals isn’t, always in a rush. Cinderella proceeds to say “I’m sure they were going somewhere important.”
That was the first time the Prince saw Cinderella but he didn’t actually SEE her. The concept of being hidden in plain sight has always been a little hard to digest because I feel like home dude should have just seen Cinderella and fell in love with her on spot…. ha-ha! Much like today if you’re waiting on a Prince or a promotion.
I remember when I first started my job as a receptionist and crying because it was not in the line of work, I went to college for which was Public Relations. I remember having a conversation with my mom and she said, “work it as if you were your own client and make it your own.” Little did I know after many changes within the company that I was being watched to be positioned. God had me in the front (literally & figuratively) and I didn’t even know it. When the time came (when God’s time came) for me to run the office and build a team I was able to do so. During my time as a receptionist, I was able to learn what type of leader I wanted to be by looking at the C-suite executives and how they handled/ showed up for their teams, having a crappy manager that was not kind and then three good ones (a lot I know but we were going through changes). I also was able to sharpen my organizational and communication skills, cultivate repour and build relationships. I am now covered by a manager that allowed me to brand a new department (my department), hire the talent that would make an incredible team and trust me with another building to run.
When I say God’s timing is everything, it is EVERYTHING! You being hidden is not punishment but it’s readying you for the position. The holding place is for your good, the word of God says that “He would never leave you, nor forsake you.” God isn’t in the business of leaving you unveiled but it is in due time when you are ready and the place/people are ready to RECEIVE you that he will reveal you. God was always writing your story no matter the detour, the hour something didn’t happen or the feeling of something missed. Cinderella is a prime example of that because she wasn’t missed the first time the prince bumped into her, that was just a glimpse of what she was getting ready to receive. God will always give you a glimpse but you to have faith to continue to walk towards whatever God is leading you to.
I’ve seen a glimpse of my Prince but God is still writing the story, which I can’t wait to share…In due time!
Keep your head up Sis, He got you! I promise.
